Good quality of recorded signal. It is small and lightweight, with a feeder to NLE/Computer. Will record and playback consumer mini-DV and small DVCam. The audio inputs are RCA jacks and good transformers are needed to convert it to unbalanced. Audio outputs are professional balance XLR connectors. The DSR-45 is best used as a player/recorder in a nonlinear editing suite.
