ABC Light Crane

These lightweight cranes are made of aluminium alloy and resemble the rigging on a modern yacht. Because of their light weight and the local availability of filler for sand bags in lieu of weights, they can be assembled in far flung locations and allow the camera to soar and swoop.  

ABC 100 Crane
- Maximum camera height above ground : 6M. It is 7.8M long
- The arm has 100mm circular cross section
- Weight without tripod or weights = 15KG
- Max camera weight = 20Kg (most video cameras with lens, battery and mattebox are less than 10Kg)
- Pack size = 1800x250x280mm
- Weight can be cast iron circles or sand bags up to 40Kg depending on camera weight

ABC 125 Crane
- Overall length 10.5M
- Camera max height 9M
- The arm  has  a 125mm square cross section
- Weight without weights or tripod 30Kg
- It will take cameras to a max weight of 35Kg
- Pack size = 1750x450x400mm

Remote Head ‘Pele’ by ABC
This attaches under the top end of the ABC 100 crane, with the camera pan and tilt controls available by cable on a joy stick at ground base. It is driven by rechargeable NP batteries included in the kit with a small LCD viewing monitor.

The unit tripod could be used but you might well want a heavy weight version for rigidity.
