Hammerhead TV EXPANDS P2 TECHNOLOGY

Hammerhead Glasgow provided all camera and TV lighting for a full five camera P2 video shoot at a recent Amy MacDonald gig. The live show was filmed by client Draw Pictures for a new promo video and was part of a series of events under the Rock Against Racism campaign.

Hammerhead TV supplied five Panasonic P2 cameras each with
2 x 32GB memory cards. This is part of a wider investment in tapeless recording technology and Hammerhead are working with several key clients in mapping future workflows in the tapeless domain.

Draw Pictures director ‘the 3 pronged attack’ stated "We were very happy with the Hammerhead kit and delighted with our rushes. We used two laptops to download the content after the show and are confident that the HD quality meets our clients’ requirements."

The picture shows a Panasonic HVX200 fitted with the Kino lens ring light.

Hammerhead Expansion In Scotland - Spring 2008

A new bookings and commercial team is now in place to look at new market opportunities and continued expansion within Scotland.

Stephen Rowan has been recruited as the Operations Manager for Scotland. Before joining Hammerhead, he project managed a major installation at the new BBC Scotland Headquarters building at Pacific Quay and is now based at our Glasgow facility.

Steve commented ‘I’m really enjoying working with the Hammerhead TV team here in Scotland. There is massive potential for us in the HD broadcast arena and as an official BBC Approved Supplier we are very interested in new tapeless and disc based recording system opportunities here.

We plan to expand the Hammerhead TV service in these areas. Having worked at PQ and being located close to SMG and the new Digital Media Village developments in Glasgow, we are very well placed to expand our broadcast and commercial video services in this sector.'

He has since worked as a Production Co-ordinator and Production Manager in Scotland for companies such as Lion Television, Saltire and Mentorn Scotland on productions for BBC and UK Networks.
